Statement from CPE President Aaron Thompson on House Budget

The biennial budget passed in the House demonstrates Kentucky lawmakers’ continued dedication to higher education and workforce development in the commonwealth. Their enhanced investment in education will better position our institutions to meet the needs of our citizens and our economy – signaling the important role of higher education in equipping our students with the necessary tools to participate in a competitive workforce. It will allow Kentucky colleges and universities to maintain affordability, reinvest in their campus infrastructure, and continue to produce innovative, world-renowned research that betters all our lives. The Council on Postsecondary Education will continue to work side-by-side with our elected officials toward our shared goal of building a strong, resilient workforce and ensuring every Kentuckian has access to the high-quality education they need to succeed.
